Guanella Pass & Chautauqua
This engagement session was a first for me! We had to stop photographing mid session and schedule the second half for another date due to weather! For the first half of Candra and Manny's session, we headed up to the mountains because these two are huge hikers and lovers of the outdoors. It was a chilly day and when we made it to the lake, we discovered that we were socked in with fog. These two are so easy going though and they were up for the adventure. At one point Manny pointed out that there was a break in the fog and I yelled for us to run for it, the three of us took off laughing the whole way and I just love the photo of the two of them standing on the rock as the fog is slowly rolling back in behind them. After we photographed our last roll we had to call it because the rain turned into the wettest snow.
For the second half of their session we decided to stay in the foothills, Chautauqua to be precise. It's such an iconic backdrop and Boulder is where Candra and Manny met so it just seemed to make sense that we would incorporate that location into their photos since it's such an important place to them.
I don't think I've ever laughed more at a session than I did with Candra and Manny, they are funny and completely comfortable with each other. I think that's what shines through most when I look back at their photos and it's truly my favorite part about their images. I am so looking forward to their summer wedding next year with Calluna Events!
